GMK Supply 5x10x0.2mm “Hardbody” SCTE Hardened Differential Shim Set (6)

This is an optional GMK Supply 5x10x0.2mm “Hardbody” Hardened Differential Shim Set, and is intended for use with the Losi TEN, TEN-SCTE and 810 vehicles. These are the larger shims that are installed inside the differential cup over the outdrive shaft, and sit between the sun gear and differential cup. These hardened shims will not wear out like the stock shims.

The first thing I did was to test to see how hard they are to bend, and they can be folded in half quite easily with your fingers, and are not springy at all. The stock Shims are harder, and the MIP shims are way harder. It was not worth it to me to put these in, so in the trash they go. Still, use this on builds after the stockers have gone. They won’t reduce noise or give other advantages. Gotta replace these at least every 5-6 months of weekend club races. Mine were worn down to little razor blades that was just after 4 months. I guess for the price its not that bad. No more tight binding diff action on a new build. Wear rate isn’t known to me yet, but can’t be worse than the horrible factory shims.
