I like them both just fine quality and craftsmanship is good on both brands.The hot racing transmission looks and functions nicely imo. What I cannot stand is that goofy shaved edge. I want scale. The shaved edge is equivalent to putting cheap plastic chrome everywhere or oak veneer on all your furniture. I think it would do the job is it did NOT have that shaved edge. I have gone now to look at serval parts I need to upgrade and they ALL have this silly edge. Why not just make the part as scale as possible? I have passed on so many HR parts because of that. But vanquish makes awesome scale parts so I just went back to them.
