Mikey Sunday, Mar 10 2013 (about 12 years ago) Hudy 3mm Drive Pin Replacement Tool I’ve had both the Mugen tool and the Hudy tool. The Mugen tool has long since been sold. I liked the mugen tool but had sheared 2 of the “push” pins. Yes they sell replacements. Makes you wonder why they sell replacements. It seems the pin they use to push the dogbone pin out is as soft or softer than the pin in the actual dogbone. Have been using the Hudy tool for a year without 1 issue. I’ve used it on every brand dogbone and it always works. Yes the mugen tool was more “convenient” as you didn’t need a hammer but the best tool for the job is the Hudy. 5 customers found this review helpful. Wished I bought it the first time I look at it but I thought I don’t need it. I thought wrong. All I can say its fast, easy ,and saves money. I used a vise and squeezed pins in and out with control. I am thinking the vise is a better idea than a hammer although I’m sure that works fine also. A vise allows precision adjustments to center pin and doesn’ t mark tool if using some rubber or like material in the vise jaws. Mugen 3mm pins are great also. Use Mugen 13.8mm pins for Front and Rear CVD’s and 12.8mm for center CVD shafts. They are perfect lenghth for TLR 8ight’s and I’m sure most others. 1 customer found this review helpful. I just used it for the first time and it pushed pins out of my mugen mbx6t no problem. My advice is don’t use a hammer like it says in the instructions use a vise to clamp the tool in. I also used a motorcycle chain breaker in the past to do this job. No comparison. Hudy tool can get the job done in 1-2min. Even works on Kyosho 2.9mm drive pins, as thankfully the push pin installed in the tool is just under 2.9mm diameter. Get yourself a heavy hammer (4lb+) and the tool works even better. I was using a $30 motorcycle chain breaker to do it and I thought it “worked” (it was a real pain actually). I finally broke down and bought this Hudy tool. The motorcycle chain breaker was a nightmare compared to this Hudy tool.
