ProTek RC 170TBL Black Label High Torque Brushless Servo.
Brushless servo technology has improved by leaps and bounds. Finally, brushless servos can deliver holding power, speed and precision that can compete with a coreless servo. Combine that with the superior efficiency and lifespan of a brushless motor and you have a servo that hits all the marks, with the performance and quality required for a pro level build.
A black anodized aluminum case with aluminum and white accents give this servo a stealthy look that sets it apart from the rest. The aluminum upper case provides bomb proof durability and the heat sink center case offers efficient heat dissipation and helps to reduce weight. The lead wire is detachable, allowing you to easily custom tailor the servo lead to your application, and the package includes both 135mm and 285mm length servo leads. Plus, a full selection of servo arms and mounting hardware are included making installation easy.
NOTE:If you experience glitching or poor performance while using a Futaba transmitter, you must turn off BLS mode. BLS mode is only compatible with Futaba BLS type servos.

Going to email amain and see if it’s warrantied as it’s only been 2 months since I bought it. And second race day in it failed.
I Got my replacement same week I returned the old one A-main was more then happy to help me and send me a replacement. Going to test it out after this weekend race. However, due to how and where the wires exit the servo, if used with the RC8B4, some modification to the servo mount is required with a dremel to clear the wires.

This is a insert servo wire type connector, it has a long lead and short lead. On the AE RC8BTe kit , you have to Dremmel out the servo brace , as the lead into servo it bulky.

It’s B. E. A. Utiful! Comes with everything you could possibly need to run a servo. An extension as well. WARNING: make sure you set your end points. If you’re using this for a throttle and brake servo do not connect links before taking some stroke off. Or at least be very mindful and careful. This thing has enough torque to rip the carb out of the engine, to tear the center differential right off the frame. And still with lightning fast speed. I don’t know how they do it, but they do it!! I don’t know why but it twitches like it’s having a convulsion when off the ground, in the air, or upside down.I’ve changed receivers, servo lead, and even changed the bec settings. Still it twitches. I’m running it in the new Tekno ET48 2.2.I’ve used protek servos now for years in my 1/10th scale cars and never had this issue. go dead randomly while racing at A-Main Silver Dollar Raceway. First time it failed going down the front straightaway and the second time while sitting in the pit lane while walking up to the driver stand. I suspect that the microchip or motor has a quality issue and completely stops working. Very disappointing when you travel 3.5 hrs to a race to deal with the same issue. A-Main was nice enough to cover the first one but was unwilling to do anything the second time because it was not bought directly through them. Either way it was a waste of time and money in my opinion over something that shouldn’t happen to being with. It worked well until they completely die. I’m switching to a Savox 2290 SG to get away from these Protek poor quality servos which shouldn’t have the same reoccurring issue. Super strong, very fast. In fact since the Et is new I have slowed the speed down a bit. Never had a problem with it and works perfectly every time.

Love it! stuart measures Tuesday, Mar 12 2024 (about a year ago) ProTek RC 170TBL “Black Label” High Torque Brushless Servo pretty good servo been using for over a year now in nitro buggy with no issues. my only complaint would be the detachable servo harness. for most this is a bonus feature that would be appreciated but if you have a tekno the grommet around the wire is pretty fat and is pretty difficult to get through the servo mount posts. i ended up trimming the grommet off and squirting silicone in there to keep dirt and fuel out. Van Shane Sunday, Dec 17 2023 (about a year ago) ProTek RC 170TBL “Black Label” High Torque Brushless Servo Amain recommended this for the Tekno NB48 2.1 so I bought it and found out when I was trying to install it that it doesn’t fit properly unless you remove the waterproof rubber around the wire and dremel half way into one of the servo mount legs. I can’t return it now because I opened it and it’s been more than 7 days. I didn’t buy it from Amain but I’m still out of $170 because they recommended it and I refuse to ruin the structural integrity of my build.
