Scale is fun. rock crawling is fun. But to see this crawler in action is absolutely amazing. The way it moves and crawls is unlike anything you will ever see.
COMP CRAWLER is what they call this type. it was the first. Scale came in and they could crawl too. But seriously – if you want fun and awesome to look at – you need to get this. I have had many comp crawlers (going way back to Lose, Axial, and lots of home made kits). RC4WD took all that came before it and made the most amazing crawler. Nothing you buy or build will give you the joy this kit they put together will give you.
MOA means motor on axial. that’s were you put your motors. it’s a lot of fun! I picked up some 35T motors and other goodies to go with this kit. Wow – is an understatement. I knew being RC4WD meant it would be improved over all the older version – but its more like WOW!
it’s awesome. if you are thinking about comp crawlers (the best and funnest of the bunch) – get this one! it’s well worth the money. 10 customers found this review helpful. Louis Milinazzo Verified Owner Thursday, Jul 8 2021 (about 4 years ago) RC4WD Bully II MOA Competition Crawler Kit Quality kit. Pick up 50 10mm button hex screws. Trying to put together the bead lock wheels with 6mm screws makes no sense and was impossible for me. 8mm work but there is clearance for 10’s. Currently I’m running a hobbywing 880, Holmes 35T motors, and a Spektrum DX5C transmitter. You will need a transmitter with MOA capability for a good dig and “overdrive front wheels.
Build quality of the assembled axles are excellent. Obviously small batteries are necessary. I had 850 mA batteries from my TRX4 that fit but I’m going to try something smaller. I do recommend this kit. Now I can run a completely different section of my crawling spot that is impossible for scale crawlers. Hope this helps!
Edit: I just installed a Holmes Hobbies dual ESC, a HH direct powered servo and added a Futaba 4PM receiver and transmitter. Now it’s really a MOA. Budget some $$$ beyond the kit 🙂 6 customers found this review helpful. With the motors on the axles, it is an excellent crawler for those contest accepting this style. Really fun to drive. It does take practice to get familiar with the driving of front and rear motors. There are many options for using your selection of motors, ESCs, and receivers. Shop carefully for items in your budget and the items that will give you the best options for operating your MOA the way you want. This is not a speedster, slow and precise driving is the name of the game. Very popular in Europe and Scandinavian countries. This is an excellent vehicle for those that like to crawl. This kit is well worth the price. However, the RTR has some major assembly problems that will need to be corrected. The electrical components of the RTR are lacking in quality in my opinion.I have assembled two of these kits and love using them. 3 customers found this review helpful. Be sure to use the thread locker that’s included and use it on all the preinstalled screws for the axles. Was missing the 2 pinion gears but contacted rc4wd the next day and they sent me some quickly, had some of my own so I continued assembly. All documentation states 32p which is wrong, they are 48p richard vitale Verified Owner Wednesday, Jan 26 2022 (about 3 years ago) RC4WD Bully II MOA Competition Crawler Kit The build has gone well, the kit is easy to assemble, everything fit well, no problems. It will be a while before I can actually do some rock climbing with it, it’s winter here in Minnesota.
