David P Verified Owner Friday, Oct 14 2022 (about 2 years ago) Redcat Everest Gen7 Steel Transmission Gear Set 1 year in and these gears are holding up fine. My son and I both have a Redcat Gen7. They are our basher trucks for mud riding, driving in wet conditions and other types of things we don’t want to subject our higher dollar trucks to. About a year into ownership my sons truck started to make a high pitched squeal. After disassembling everything, cleaning and lubricating, I came to the conclusion it was coming from the transmission. I upgraded both our trucks to this metal gear kit. It’s been installed for over a year and holding up like new. I did grease down the gears during installation. It was a pretty easy to swap. If you have a Gen7, I’d say this is a great upgrade. No grinding or unwanted noises from the transmission even after lots of full throttle bashing. My son drives his truck like a rock racer where as I’m a little more reserved. View all reviews
