Tekno RC Big Bone Center Driveshaft & Outdrive Kit (Slash 4×4)

This is an optional Tekno RC Big Bone Center Driveshaft & Outdrive Kit, and is intended for use with the Traxxas Slash 4×4. The Tekno RC Big Bone Driveshaft and Outdrives solve many of the issues associated with the stock center driveline. First off they are HUGE, but remain extremely lightweight. It’s a dog bone design, rather than a simple splined shaft and as such will not bind, split, or bend the way the stock shaft does. The laser etched shaft is machined from high quality aluminum and anodized for incredible wear. Hardened steel outdrives on either end replace the weak stock parts for the ultimate center driveline system!

Both pins started to slide out of the shaft thus rubbing on my motor and chassis.
My friend experienced the same problem.

Exponentially stronger than stock, they’ll take all kinds of bashing you give. If you rub any anodizing(or maybe it’s paint) off, it rust a bit, but easily comes off with a wd40 rubdown. One minor thing is that when installing you do need to take a Dremel or file to the front of you chassis and take of 1/16 to 1/8 to just make some room which isn’t a deal breaker. It makes quite a noise and it took me a while to find the problem. I have no solution but to let it wear at the chassis until there is clearance. I used a small sanding drum on my dremel to remove a bit of the chassis and now it doesn’t rub on the bench. Time will tell if it rubs under race conditions. 2 customers found this review helpful. I run 6mm revo diff front and revo 6mm full spool rear T-MAXX arms from bulk heads with geode summit wheels for ultimate traction. The original drive shaft would brake clean off on one battery. No doubt, this is quality product and great finish all the way.
If you want to do a true upgrade, this is the way to go.

The Tekno driveshaft has survived multiple battery packs of big air landings and standing back flips. I’m very impressed with it. There is a space conflict on the upper deck directly in between the bell crank post. That’s where the dogbone cross pin makes contact with the chassis. A mild amount of grinding solves the problem.
