I like that the set screw is very small, doesn’t protrude out of the hole and is very close to the teeth as mentioned in desc.
it’s wider than robinson pinions so i have less clearance to belts etc. It has chamfered edges which seems to be nothing but added weight as the teeth don’t engage on the edges. However most pinions are like that I’ve noticed. I have a set of yeah racing and they are the same way. maybe there is a reason that most of them are designed that way?
The robinson are the only ones ive seen that are straight cut with no chamfered edge, so the entire tooth length engages with the spur. i usually use robinsons but wanted to try AXON since i use their spurs. at low speeds i am getting a lot of gear buzz and thought maybe an axon would solve it – nope, it buzzes just like the robinson.
