This is a optional Fioroni Lightweight Center Differential Case, and is intended for use with the Kyosho MP9. This two piece CNC machined 7075 Ergal differential case features steel pins that capture the differential cross pins, providing a perfect fit between the gears for smooth and consistent differential operation. The Fioroni differential case also holds more oil than standard plastic differential cases, to help minimize thermal breakdown of the differential fluid for more consistent differential action during long runs. The cases have also been finned to allow efficient heat dissipation and reduce weight.

Also helps tone down the car a little on the low grip tracks.. But I had the same as the other review. Brass shaving when changing the fluids .. to then have a failure with the Brass fitting coming free from the aluminum. Luckily it was on a practice friday and not race day on the Saturday. pretty disappointed in a expensive upgrade 1 customer found this review helpful. Tony D. Verified Owner Saturday, Jan 22 2022 (about 3 years ago) Fioroni Kyosho MP9 Lightweight Center Differential Case While I appreciate the engineering and build quality of this, I did have it unusually fail on me. Something happened, perhaps caused by a slight vibration, too much torque in the ebuggy, or a manufacturing defect, but one of the brass sleeves, which hold the outdrive axles, has rounded out. Brass powder everywhere, even in the oil! The bearing on one side is actually seized onto the sleeve as well, despite free-spinning. I cannot get it off. The rounded-out sleeve no longer provides a smooth and good fit for the outdrive’s axle. Even the outdrive has been trashed as the brass liquefied and bonded to the outdrive axle’s steel. Not cool, both literally and figuratively! I have contacted Fioroni about this, and they want me to send it back so they can put on a a replacement sleeve. With USPS international shipping currently at $17.50, plus no guarantee that this will not happen again in the future, I am still on the fence to get it fixed.
Furthermore, with or without a failure in mind, be advised that the Fioroni case is anything but lightweight. It weighs 23g. A plastic, stock Kyosho case weighs 14g. 1 customer found this review helpful. It’s not just all of them are bad or something. I use their pistons to their clutches flywheels you name it and my eyes, Fioroni is one of the best aftermarket companies out there.
