Tamiya TT-02R 4WD Touring Car Chassis Kit

The Tamiya TT-02R 4WD Touring Car Kit is a refined, race-spec version of the TT-02 chassis that features a wide range of option parts and redesigned components to make it ready to race. The included racing spec parts include upgraded uprights, motor mount, shafts, joint cups and more, while the suspension is fitted with metal parts and CVA oil dampers. It retains the TT-02’s versatility and easy-to-drive characteristics.

mmmm…BORT Verified Owner Sunday, Apr 13 2025 (6 months ago) Tamiya TT-02R 4WD Touring Car Chassis Kit Great TT02 Kit for spec racing. Kit includes tons of upgrades which is a great trade off for the body and electonics (spec electronics are different anyway). If you plan on racing, this is the kit to get. I also recommend this kit over the srx as that car just doesnt seem worth the price. And very little parts cary over from car to car so if you break the srx, parts are not as common in shops. I ordered my TT02R with adjustable upper arms and installed them during the build. I’d also recommend a value fast digital servo like a Savox SC1251. The kit includes tires, but I used the local spec tires as required. The car dials in quick and my next change will be springs and shock oil. The build — Tamiya quality, a straight forward build, and a great learning experience.
Paired with a Hobbywing 3652 4100KV motor / EZRUn ESC — and this car slaps. Roll onto the throttle and she eats pavement at an alarming rate. The power rolls on smoothly, and if you’re slightly impatient, you are rewarded with generous wheel spin. I geared the car with the option 64 Spur 27T Pinion combo.And all I can say is .. This thing ROCKS.
This is the kit to get, if you’ve never built an RC car, or if you’ve built one or two. She joins my Subaru WRC99 stock TT02. I’ve put rc10 kits together since the 80’s, so I know what to expect with a kit car. This kit is race spec, yet too much time messing with plastic SPRUES and sanding the parts. Found the wrong size ball bearings for the front and rear hubs – this is VERY BAD, had to order full set of bearings. The instructions weren’t straightforward and didn’t help specify which bag of parts for which step. I had to be more intuitive than I should be, putting together a speed demon TT02R. I’m not finished with the kit yet. I’m using a brushless motor and esc with a higher tooth pinion. Can’t wait for the trials!! I have faith this will turnaround from the setbacks experienced.

I’m giving it 4 stars because you need to buy separately literally all of the electronic components to be able to run it. I knew this before buying it (and the electronics that I bought at a later time), but it would have certainly been more enjoyable if I had everything beforehand.
